TWO DRYING METHODS
Naturally Seasoned
Our naturally seasoned firewood has been sun dried in a controlled environment at least six months. It contains roughly 15% to 20% moisture when it is placed in the fireplace. You want some moisture left in the wood before burning because very dry wood creates dense smoke and doesn’t create as much warmth.
Kiln-Dried
We heat treat in a kiln to elevate the core temperature of the firewood to at least 160˚F for 75 minutes. Certified by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture through a detailed inspection and testing, showing it's able to heat the firewood to a precise temperature and a specific moisture level.
MDA CERTIFIED VENDOR
Certified by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture for Heat Treatment signifies we manage a kiln which has undergone a thorough procedure, proving its capacity to elevate the core temperature of the firewood to at least 160˚F for a duration of 75 minutes. For MDA Kiln Dry Certification, we utilize a kiln which passed a detailed inspection and testing phase, showing its able to heat the firewood to a precise temperature and achieve a specific final moisture level.
